It is possibly not an exaggeration to suggest that behind every great application or web site, there lives a database busily storing and retrieving information. Database systems were once the exclusive domain of commercial giants such as Oracle and IBM which sell vast, complex database systems. Now, thanks to the creation of the open source MySQL database, the development of data driven web, desktop and server based applications is now within reach of everyone.
The purpose of MySQL Essentials is to provide the typical computer user with everything necessary to install MySQL, design database and store and retrieve data.
