In the chapter entitled [[Working with Directories on iPhone OS]] we looked at the NSFileManager, NSFileHandle and NSData Foundation Framework classes and discussed how the NSFileManager class in particular enables us to work with directories when developing iPhone based applications. We also spent some time covering the file system structure used by the iPhone OS and in particular looked at the temporary and Documents directories assigned to each application and how the location of those directories can be identified from with the application code.
