The panel located on the left hand side of the window allows for the selection of the target platform. Depending on the SDK you downloaded with your copy of Xcode, you will see options to develop either for the iPhone or Mac OS X. Begin by making sure that the Application option located beneath iPhone OS is selected. The main panel contains a list of templates available to use as the basis for an application. The options available are as follows:
