== Enabling Workspace Edge Flipping ==
Switching between workspaces using the Workspace Switcher can become a laborious process involving multiple mouse clicks. The process of switching may be streamlined by activating edge flipping. Edge flipped may be activated such that the current workspace switches when a window or other item is dragged to the corresponding edge of the screen. For an even greater level of convenience switching may also be configured to trigger when the mouse pointer is moved to a screen edge.
To enable or disable edge flipping, access the CompizConfiz Settings Manager and click on the Desktop Wall item located amongst the Desktop settings. Within the resulting screen, select the Edge Flipping tab:

In the above figure the desktop has been configured to switch when either the mouse pointer or a window is moved to the edge of the current workspace. Experience suggests that these settings work best after the user has logged out of and then back into the desktop. It is also worth noting that pointer based flipping may prove confusing to some users.
== Summary ==
In this chapter we have looked at some of the configuration options available to change the appearance and behavior of the Ubuntu 11.04 Unity launcher and workspace switcher. Clearly this provides some level of opportunity for the user to customize the Unity desktop but is only a small part of the Unity configuration story. In the next chapter we will look at options for changing the desktop background.
